Fear•less•ness•
“Being fearless means busting down those walls of fear and being who you are, not who someone else thinks you are. People like to put others in a box and tell them what they can and cannot do or who they can and cannot be. No one can tell you who you are and what you are made of, only you yourself know what you are made of, and only you yourself can do the work to become who you want to be.” -Mariska Hargitay
I got my first Fearlessness Necklace (Seen worn by Olivia Benson on Law and Order: SVU) about 3 years ago when I first started down the road of recovery and coming to terms with my sexual assault. It helped remind me that I am fearless and can do anything. I hardly ever took it off. I honestly felt naked without it. At that time I needed the constant reminder to be brave and keep fighting. It helped get me through the worst days of my life. I became stronger and started to heal. Being constantly worn took it’s toll on the necklace. I decided that as I have entered a new part in my journey, I would buy a new one to represent where I am at now.
Today, I celebrate where I am now and where I’ll continue to go!
