Sometimes You Just Need To Do You

I am off work for the next little while and it’s been wonderful so far. It was such a long winter and I felt trapped between just going to work and staying cooped up in the apartment. I had taken the whole first week of April off and then because of my part time hours I actually have two weeks off work.

I spent this week doing some shopping, an early birthday dinner with my friend, an early birthday outing with my parents to see a production of Mamma Mia and yesterday I spent some time with my nephew.

This weekend I’m going to practice some self care and hang out with my other half. I need to take the time to take care of me before I do take too of this time off.

Monday I am going back on local radio to talk about my experience with reporting my sexual assault years after the fact. It’s a scary thing but something I feel I need to do.

Tuesday-Saturday morning I will be on a road trip with my buddy Johanna to see LeAnn Rimes twice!

And then I’ll be spending the day Saturday celebrating my 31st birthday at an Allies and Survivors event. I can’t think of a better way to spend the 10 year anniversary of my assault.

Lots of things I have to look forward to but I have to remember to take small breaks to breathe otherwise I get overwhelmed.

I’m loving feeling like I have a life again!

Remember that sometimes just doing you is important to your mental health!
