I wanted to write a blog post about my advocate. The Center she works for has the slogan “Your Shelter In The Storm.” And Kim has really rang true to that. We met when I reached out wanting to use my story to help others. We went on the radio and I was able to tell my story. It was one of the most empowering things and I’m very happy that I got to share that day with Kim. She does so much to help others. She listens, she gives good advice and she just cheers you on.

I got to find out how true this was when I recently came out of a hard situation. She has helped me so much. And I know I couldn’t keep making the steps I do without her support and her cheerleading.

I never knew what it was like before to have an advocate. I do advocate work but it’s a whole different ballgame for me to accept that I also need an advocate by my side. Listening to me, cheering me on, and just being a great addition to my team.
