So back in like February my psych med provider ordered a gene sight test (to see what meds work or don’t work genetically) before making any med changes.
Fast forward to April. I got the results and we decided to taper off the antidepressant (celexa) I had been on for over 15 years and to start on a new one (luvux)
Long story short I was having all kinds crazy withdrawal symptoms. My provider was concerned about serotonin syndrome and so it felt like every time I worked through the withdrawals I was tapered again. I basically went from 60 mgs to zero in about 3 weeks.
Withdrawals were crazy!!! Physical symptoms, anger, suicide ideation etc etc.
Thankfully I’ve made it through that and am close to getting to a therapeutic level of the new one!
It was just a reminder of just how strong I am and will continue to be.
Next up Tracy retiring next week… I turn pain into power so BRING IT ON!
