The first week of April was a busy yet amazing week for me. It included doing a radio interview to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a road trip with my friend as well as going to A Day of Healing on my birthday!

I went on local radio to talk about my experience reporting my sexual assault years after the fact and to just advocate for others. It was a very empowering experience and learning that my voice matters!
The next day (Tuesday) started my road trip with my friend Johanna to see LeAnn Rimes. Like life, the trip took an unexpected turn as LeAnn’s shows got postponed. We were pretty disappointed but we still managed to have fun!
Saturday was my 31st birthday and I chose to spend it with the people who inspire and empower me while doing what I love… I went to A Day of Healing: Survivors and Allies and Wrap the Capital. The lovely people at The Family Center made my birthday special by decorating the van and giving me balloons! It was an exhausting day but so worth it. I left feeling so empowered!
